It is critical when performing analysis on SmartCap data that the timestamps be appropriately handled. As a general rule, all data that is end-user-facing is in Local Time, whereas data stored behind the scenes is stored in GMT. The table below provides more clarity on the formats used:
"All timestamps are shown in local time
and stored in GMT"
Source | Format | Description |
Status timestamp - Database | GMT | Records stored in the fatigue_log table |
Alarm timestamp - Database | GMT | Records stored in the alarm_log table |
Fatigue Data Export Report | Local Time | Fatigue data shown on screen or exported to CSV using LifeHub or Fatigue Manager |
Alarm Data Export Report | Local Time | Alarm data shown on screen or exported to CSV using LifeHub or Fatigue Manager |
Fatigue Manager Reports | Local Time | All reports (e.g. Data Overview, Shift Investigation, Operator Report) shown on screen or exported to PDF using LifeHub Fatigue Manager |
Email Report Configuration | Local Time | Setting in the report_configuration table to schedule automated reports such as Snapshot and AlarmView |
Display LOG Files | GMT | Encrypted files stored on Display internal memory containing fatigue and alarm records. |
LogDownloader output | Local Time | CSV data files output from SmartCap LogDownloader |
