Understanding Alarm Clusters

An individual may get multiple fatigue alarms within a short time frame. Even though they show up as separate alarms, your organisation may wish to consider this cluster of alarms as a single event.

Fatigue Manager accommodates this by allowing alarm clustering in all reports. If used, instances of a configured alarm that occur within a nominated period of other instances are "clustered" into one group for reporting purposes.

Alarm clustering can be set up when creating a new alarm rule, or by editing an existing rule.

If clustering is used, the automated email reports such as SmartCap Snapshot will show first the number of alarm clusters, and second the total number of alarms in brackets.
