SmartCap LifeHub is a database-driven web application that is hosted in the cloud. Below is the data communications overview.
The primary communications for SmartCap Life is via TCP/IP from the LifeDisplay. The LifeDisplay supports the following connection types:
- 3G (WCDMA/HSPA+ Band 1,2,5,8) (Recommended)
- In built Wifi (802.11 a/b/g/n/ac) – in-cab antenna only
- Customer provided radio via Ethernet (RJ-45) connection
Only one of the above is required
Satellite communication [optional]
There is also an optional satellite solution available, which can be used to send alarms in case there is no network coverage. In that scenario the data communications overview looks a little different:
Data usage per system for 24 operational hours:
Up | Down | |
3G/WiFi* | 4MB | 3MB |
Iridium | 100 bytes** | N/A |
* usage not including infrequent app upgrades and remote support - a flexible data plan or a plan of 1GB/mnth is recommended.
** at typical alarm rate
